About

My name is Michelle Wiseman, and I am delighted to have set up Inspired Path CIC, a social enterprise supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children, young people and families.

I believe passionately in the importance of mental health and wellbeing and see this as the foundation upon which our lives are built.  I’m especially passionate about the powerful role that our mindsets can play in shaping emotional wellbeing, while also recognising the importance of wider psychological, social, developmental and physiological influences.

Having completed a former higher educational programme (including a BA(Hons) and MA degree) with a strong focus on research and policy development, I have gone on to focus on the area of children and young people throughout my working life.

A good few years back now, I spent 10 years working in central government on children and young people’s policy development – both in the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), and the Sure Start Health Team in the heyday of the Sure Start programme in the Department for Education (DfE).  For example, while in DHSC, I was the project manager (and co-author) for the development of the Healthy Child Programme for 5-19-year-olds.

Over the past few years, I have focused on designing, creating and bringing to life a range of practical toolkits supporting children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing (and additional life skills) through my small business venture, Little Wise Toys

I have also undertaken a structured programme of both regulated and continuous professional development (CPD) to formalise my learning and underpin the wellbeing and mindset work that will be delivered through Inspired Path CIC.  This includes the following regulated qualifications – NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills (Ofqual-recognised), TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health (RQF, Ofqual-recognised) and I am in the process of undertaking the AIM Level 3 Certificate in Special Educational Needs (RQF, Ofqual-recognised).  Alongside this, I have completed a range of CPD-accredited training in child psychology, trauma informed practice, the P.A.C.E. model, Emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), positive behaviour support (PBS) and life coaching in the areas of CBT cognitive behavioural coaching, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), mindfulness, teenagers and neurodiversity.  I am also currently undertaking a CPD-accredited diploma in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT- tapping). In addition, my training encompasses safeguarding children and adults at Level 3.

I am an accredited member of ACCPH (Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists) and have a certified enhanced DBS check in place.

Through Inspired Path CIC, and working with others, I look forward to bringing the learning, knowledge and insights gained over the years together to offer empowering support that can help to make a difference to the lives of children, young people and families.
